I am decorating my house and I am changing the ceiling lights. But I had a big problem. When I took my light down I could see a lot of wires!!! (live, neutral and earth) the problem is the live and the neutral is alive! (with electric!!!) my light has being running the just the live wire. Why did it not blow the fuse( I have used it for 3 years)
if u can help it would be great! Thanks!!

Someone told me:

"It would blow a fuse if it was over loaded, for some reason all your wires are hooked up somewhere, you only need a hot and neutral to work the lights, the ground is for safety."

But the problem is I don't have neutral only hot and hot, so now the lightbulb is feeding on hot only, (and not on hot and neutral).

IS THIS A BIT DANGEROUS!??!?!

If u know an answer it would be a great help!

Thanks a lot in advance.

ok, Yes i may not be a electrician but me and my brother help our neighbors improve their homes and install a ceiling lights, the green is the ground, the white is the positive wire and the black is the negative wire. the others... you can draw a simple diagram of the present wires and the ones for the lights and go to the home depot and show the electric salesman they know basic circuits. Doesn't the ceiling lights have a diagram of this type?
