Vitamin D is important for maintaining strong and healthy bones and protects against the rickets and osteomalacia (softening of the bones in adults caused by inability to properly deposit calcium). People who do not receive direct sunlight for at least 45 minutes per week should make sure they are getting enough vitamin D through fortified milk and dairy products, or taking a vitamin D supplement like Calciferol http://www.drugdelivery.ca/s3293-s-CALCIFEROL.aspx, calcitrol, cholecalciferol, ergocalciferol or a multivitamin containing vitamin D.
The new research made by some specialists that vitamin D may be a powerful cancer preventive and most people should get more of it.

Yes, this sounds like up to date information and she seems to know the subject. There had been much media coverage on that topic of late, and for more than a year they have said we don't get enough.
Please note that if you live in Canada, research shows that we do not get the correct rays to produce vitamin D until the summer months. The other factor is that with so much concern over skin cancer, many of us have to cover our skin anyways!
