new here to the forum (hello), but longtime lurker.

I saw a promo for The Takedown tv show that peaked my interest on court-tv, and thought it might be interesting to some here. The show coming up involves a mission to take down a pool shark. Its reality tv , so it isn't' scripted. I kinda want to see this guy get taken down but more so his reaction.... there could be trouble. icon_twisted.gif

Welcome to the forums, excuse my ignorance, but what does "take down" mean, to stop?

I believe the "take down" in this context means to defeat.
