Samsung Mobile announce the launch of the Samsung U700, the slimmest HSDPA slider phone from their award winning Ultra Edition II series.

SYDNEY, 7 August 2007: Samsung Mobile announces the launch of the Samsung U700, the slimmest HSDPA slider phone from their award winning Ultra Edition II series. Now available in Australia, the Samsung U700 marks a step forward in camera phone technology with the inclusion of two unique and innovative features that help overcome existing problems in digital and mobile phone cameras. Rapid Focus delivers faster shutter speed enabling users to take sharper, more accurate photos of fast moving objects whilst Smart LCD enables users to view photos in unrivalled sharpness, even in bright sunlight. “We believe consumers want a higher quality photo taking experience and that this is achieved by innovations such as Rapid Focus and Smart LCD, rather than just increasing Megapixels alone,” said Josh Delgado, Director, Samsung Mobile. “Samsung has a long and proud history of delivering significant innovations in our Flagship product launches. The Samsung U700 does this whilst also managing to look incredibly slim and stylish.” Despite its compact slide-up design at 12.1mm, the Samsung U700 is packed with impressive features, including a Rapid Focus 3.2-megapixel camera, MP3 player fuelled by ICEpower® Technology by Bang & Olufsen and Smart LCD display. In addition, the Samsung U700’s high-speed internet connectivity (HSDPA) and extensive multimedia and audio capabilities links mobile and music like never before. Using Smart LCD technology, the Samsung U700 boasts one of the sharpest and brightest displays available in the market today. By incorporating this and the Rapid Focus 3.2 Megapixel camera with auto focus and flash, the Samsung U700 delivers professional quality pictures and accurate focus on fast moving objects. The Samsung U700 offers unprecedented listening enjoyment through ICEpower® Technology by Bang & Olufsen, a compact digital power amplifier that provides superior sound quality inside a slim and compact form factor. For music fans, the installed Quick PC Sync software makes the creation and selection of play lists effortless. A range of Samsung Bluetooth wireless accessories will further enhance the music experience of the Samsung U700 multi-format music capability and digital power amp. Samsung’s Optimized Power Usage Solution (OPUS) sets the Samsung U700 apart by guaranteeing maximum performance with increased talk time, power saving and extended battery capacity. The Samsung U700 is brought to life with Samsung’s Smart Surface Mounting Technology (SSMT), which reduces the number of required components, interference and noise. The Samsung U700 is available now exclusively in Optus retail stores nationally for the next six weeks. On the new HSDPA-enabled Optus 3G network, customers can experience higher download speeds on the Samsung U700. Find out more about the Samsung U700 at www.samsung.com.au/samsungu700
