Associated Bank has bought Pathlore’s enterprise learning management
suite to assess and manage training at more than 200 banking offices across
Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin in the USA. Associated Banc-Corp, the parent
company of Associated Bank, is a multi-bank holding company with total assets
of $15.5bn.
Associated University, the bank’s name for its one-stop learning centre,
is fuelled by Pathlore Software. It offers, among other things, online training,
employee assessments, transcripts and content management capabilities via the
bank’s intranet site.
“Our online university is open to every associate,” said Judy Docter,
director of organisational development and training at Associated Banc-Corp.
“It’s the place our people can go to equip themselves with learning
to tackle the demands of their current job or prepare for future opportunities.”
Before buying and installing Pathlore’s LMS, some bankers had to travel
a significant distance to take training. Now, much of the learning comes directly
to them through their desktop.
The bank relies on the Associated University to teach workers about topics
ranging from compliance and systems to management principles.
The Pathlore technology underpinning the Associated University handles the
logistics tied to assessing thousands of employee training records. According
to Associated Bank, this system has allowed the organisation to increase the
productivity of administrators and more accurately forecast employee demand
for courses.
Through these forecasts, the bank is better able to understand its training
needs and related investments. The Pathlore system’s reporting capabilities
also provide management with the necessary data to make informed decisions about
employee development.
