Training:

Passports for business success

Contributed by _KIKE_ on Monday, June 07 @ 17:03:20 EDT

Those who are on the lookout for new ideas, insights and techniques to help their business succeed could find what they are looking for in a new series of online briefing materials, known as ‘Passports for business success’.

These passports, produced in a joint venture between the independent supplier and developer of bespoke learning, Trainer1, and John Kind Learning, aim to provide key ‘nuggets’ of information, drawn from topical best practice in business management. Containing checklists and tips, each passport can be delivered to users in hard copy format or online.

The passports are compiled by John Kind, a management consultant whose company – John Kind Learning – counts among its clients BP, BAA, Castrol and the Royal Albert Hall. Kind, who specialises in improving directors’ and executives’ business skills is also a well known lecturer and author – his most recent book being ‘Financial Games for Training’, which has just been published by Gower.

Kind commented: “You haven't got the time or the inclination to search through a mass of publications in the hope you'll find something of interest. Don’t worry: we’ve done all the hard work for you.

“These passports contain the 'nuggets' you're after. They are a treasure chest of shortcuts to some of the best ideas and practices in business management.”

According to Neil Lasher, Trainer1’s managing director: “Each passport comprises an overview; the passport material itself; additional information to augment this material, and a PowerPoint file for trainers who want to incorporate the passport material into a training course. There is also an online quiz – which, unlike the rest of the passport, is not downloadable – with, of course, feedback of the user’s result.

“These passports – installed on an intranet and updated monthly by CD-ROM or available on annual subscription – provide a large bank of generic business and interpersonal skills material which can be delivered to each employee’s desktop for ‘just-in-time’ and ‘just-enough’ learning,” he added.
