With the passion and drive to assist a family who were recently touched by the lost of a love one from cancer, The Novel Shoppe.com sets out to hold its first annual book drive to help build an everlasting legacy.

Atlanta, August 4, 2008 – Books of all kinds from Suspense, Mystery, Drama, Adventure too Romance are being sold at The Novel Shoppe.com during the months of August through October. The Novel Shoppe, which has become the Internets latest addition in online bookstores have taken on the effort to hold its First Annual Novel Shoppe Book Drive entitled, “Dedicated To A Worthy Cause” in loving memory of Mylia Smith, to benefit Camp Sunshine in Atlanta. Mylia was a young vivacious teenager who was affected by a rare form of cancer known as rhabdomyosarcoma, which affects the daily functioning of the internal organs. Giving the opportunity to live her life to the fullest through programs provided throughout the year by Camp Sunshine, she passed at the tender age of sixteen June 20, 2008. Camp Sunshine is a non-profit organization that provides a variety of programs for children with cancer and will be creating a brick and natural stone plaza adjacent to the Camp Sunshine playground. Camp Sunshine will engrave a personalized message on a brick or stone paver which will become a permanent part of their landscaping at Camp Sunshine House. The Novel Shoppe.com has taken on the cause of assisting the Smith and Lawrence family in leaving a legacy of Mylia as they build a memorial brick walkway adjacent to the Camp Sunshine playground. The Novel Shoppe.com along with the Smith and Lawrence family will like everyone to visit The Novel Shoppe.com and purchase a book or two to aid in this effort. On behalf of The Novel Shoppe; ten cents from every dollar of every book purchased during The Novel Shoppe Book Drive will go towards the building of the Mylia Memorial Walkway at Camp Sunshine. “Our goal during the book drive is to raise $20,000. We hope that during the three months to come we can achieve that goal. The vision is to cover enough ground at Camp Sunshine, where family and friends of Mylia can see her legacy live on at a place that they all knew made a difference in Mylia’s life. And not only help a fine organization at the same time build the brick walkway next to their playground,” says a Novel Shoppe spokesperson. The Novel Shoppe Book Drive is geared towards the enrichment of reading. Its mission with the book drive is to bridge the gap to enhance reading skills and provide an avenue where books can be obtained at every level. Its goal is to raise $20, 000, which they are seeking a major contributor to match that goal by contributing $20,000 of their own to Camp Sunshine. Although The Novel Shoppe is tapping into a competitive online market, they are hoping that their first annual Novel Shoppe Book Drive is a success in meeting the goal of $20,000, but also make a permanent place to shop for book lovers and reading enthusiasts.
