Contributed by deadtales on Monday, July 28 @ 15:39:01 EDT

The book …the dead will inherit the earth… by Swedish horror writer Thom Olausson are now available worldwide. It contains the stories that have been deemed too extreme by many magazines in USA.

Horror writer Thom Olausson decided to publish some of his stories after popular demand at his website. He decided to print the stories that had been deemed too extreme by magazines in USA. Not everything he writes is extreme though. He has recently sold a short horror story to the famous magazine, Necrology Magazine. Thom Olausson has been translated into Greek as well, a country that doesn’t seem to have a problem with his more violent and gory pieces. -as a natural step after the success I’ve had this far I decided to publish some of my work that had been judged good but too violent. Thom Olausson says about the book. He hopes that people will enjoy reading his stories and that they will want to read more in the future. Thom Olausson has no intention to stop writing. He is currently translating two novels that he hope will hit the states within a year or two. -well, it all depends. I am working on several projects at the moment. There are some brilliant writers here in Scandinavia and I am working on an anthology with writers from both Sweden and Denmark. I think the time is right for some new blood for the readers to drink. Most publishers go with names they know will sell instead of trying something different. Take the movie industry for example; horror films were made after the one and same model with the result that no one wanted to see them. Then Japan started making horror films that chocked the viewers and now the horror world are full of creepy kids and weird stuff, I just love it! I think the same goes for horror writers, there are some really brilliant writers out there that don’t stand a chance against names as Stephen King or Clive Barker. It seems that no one remembers that even these guys were unknown writers once upon a time. So, I am working on several projects and USA is going to get to know some really good writers from Scandinavia shortly. The stories in …the dead will inherit the earth… deals with vampires, ghosts and zombies for instance. It also contain some of Thom Olausson’s appreciated horror-poetry. Some of his poetry can be read at Necrology Magazine’s website under Necrology Shorts.
