GreenDrive Places in Top Roster of 2008 NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge® - APAC

Tel Aviv, Israel – July 22, 2008. Road-Guard, a pioneer of horizon predictive driver attention solutions, announced today that its GreenDrive™ smart eco-driving solution was selected as the First Runner-Up for the Asia-Pacific region in this prestigious annual competition run by NAVTEQ, a leading global provider of digital map data for vehicle navigation and location-based solutions. GreenDrive was chosen amongst a field of some of the most compelling pre-commercial Location-Based applications in the wireless industry. Road-Guard received a cash prize, as well as data licenses valued at $157,500 USD. Road-Guard provides eco-driving and driver safety solutions through mobile phones, personal navigation devices, in-vehicle infotainment consoles or embedded in cruise-control systems. The company’s GreenDrive patented technology helps drivers develop smart, smooth, and safe driving techniques that lead to an average fuel savings of 15-25% and contribute to a cleaner environment. “Placing in the top tier of this challenge is an important validation of what we already knew – that our technology has broad-based appeal for the benefits it provides, and commercial potential for integration with LBS and automotive applications,” says Alex Ackerman, CEO of Road-Guard. “We were overwhelmed by the positive responses we received at the NAVTEQ event, and are positively flooded with customer leads and partnership opportunities we are now following up on.” The NAVTEQ program, which was sponsored globally by NOKIA and Autodesk, challenges application developers to build innovative location-based services (LBS) that work with mobile phones and/or wireless handheld devices using dynamic positioning technology and NAVTEQ maps. First launched in 2003, the NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge has become the premier event in the LBS industry and a global symbol of LBS innovation and opportunity. LBS Challenge winners are chosen by a panel of distinguished judges made up of executives from leading wireless carriers, handset manufacturers, tool and platform providers, and venture capitalists. Previous LBS Challenge participants have received venture capital funding and have launched commercial applications on major wireless carriers, including Verizon Wireless and Sprint. “NAVTEQ congratulates Road-Guard for their impressive achievement in this highly competitive and talented Asia-Pacific region,” commented Rich Shuman, senior vice president, Asia Pacific sales, NAVTEQ. “To distinguish yourself amongst such an elite field of innovative solutions bodes well for the commercial viability and broad appeal in the LBS space.” “We are eager to build on the momentum of this honor and exposure to the industry. We are now looking for funding, and developing cooperation opportunities with both LBS and automotive industry players,” says Yossi Shiri, Road-Guard founder and VP Business Development.
