Samsung are committed to create innovative and technologically superior products, and the introduction of this new 100Hz Full F8 HD LCD TV showed a path for the demonstration of this commitment.

SYDNEY, 8 January 2008 – Samsung Electronics Australia today continues its run of providing Australians with the best LCD TVs on the market with the launch of the new F8 Series. Samsung’s new premium F8 range incorporates 100Hz Motion Plus technology for a more fluid picture as well as Full HD 1080p to provide more detail. Combined, both technologies provide the best technology available in a television and puts the Samsung F8 at the forefront of viewing pleasure. “For the last six months we have occupied the number one position in the LCD market in Australia and with the introduction of the new 100Hz Full HD LCD TV, we expect our dominance of the LCD TV market to strengthen,” said Evan Manolis, Senior Product Manager – Visual, Samsung Electronics Australia. “Samsung are committed to creating innovative and technologically superior products, and the introduction of this new 100Hz Full HD LCD TV is a demonstration of this commitment. The new 100Hz Full HD LCD TV will give Australians the most detailed and blur free images available on an LCD TV,” said Rodney Rodrigues, AV Marketing Manager, Samsung Electronics Australia. 100Hz Motion Plus technology, recently introduced by Samsung in the premium range of LCD TV’s, provides a more fluid picture by doubling the number of still images shown on screen per second. Samsung’s 100Hz Motion Plus technology analyses each incoming frame then creates and inserts a new frame based on the movement that has occurred between these two frames. This extra frame results in a smooth transition between frames resulting in blur-free viewing, making it a must-have technology for watching sport and action movies. Now standard across many of Samsung’s premium LCD TVs is Full HD 1080p resolution. With five times the resolution of standard definition, Full HD 1080p provides a crisp, clear image for greater detail thus enhancing the overall viewing experience. To compliment the high resolution, the F8 comes with a super high contrast ratio of 25,000:1 to deliver more depth and shading. The F8 also incorporates Samsung’s Wide Colour Enhancer to provide the most natural looking colours. Wide Colour Enhancer ensures blues and greens appear richer and more life like. The F8 series also has Samsung’s Super Clear Panel technology, which delivers deeper and darker blacks than ever before, unlocking incredibly rich and life like colour. Samsung’s signature piano black finish is a key design feature of the new F8 range. The F8’s rounded edges, piano black finish and soft blue light serve to accentuate a television that becomes the centrepiece of any living room. The F8’s minimalist design also includes hidden subwoofers, hidden controls that illuminate only when used and three HDMI ports to simplify the connection of equipment such as set-top boxes, High-Definitions players and gaming consoles. The HDMI cable connection ensures that the simplicity of the F8 is maintained without the unsightly appearance of multiple cords. Samsung’s Wiselink™ USB 2.0 connection, allows for an easy connection to a digital camera or MP3 player thus giving consumers the perfect viewing and sound system to share images and music.
