Google Stepped Towards Mobile Banner Advertisements
The search engine giant Google Inc. has announced its debut in the mobile banner advertisement market. This development is expected to bring a new definition to the dynamics of mobile advertising very soon.
London, 24th April, 2008: A thought provoking development came up yesterday, when Google Inc. announced its entry into the mobile banner advertisement market. This debut reflects that now advertisers associated with Google's AdWords services would be able to advertise across mobile users through image ads.
Till today, there are only a few companies providing mobile banner advertisement services to the advertisers. This type of advertising is quite attractive than ordinary text ads. Moreover, image ads have much significant impact over the target audience.
Now, banner ads will be displayed over the mobile device user's screen and it will open, once a click is made. This mobile banner advertisement brings the user to a mobile web page for imparting more information.
The existing players like Yahoo!, ThirdScreen and AdMob are displaying the banner ads across mobile web pages. The mobile banner advertisement market is still in an experimental stage. However, the entry of paid search advertising players would enhance the experience of the targeted user for sure.
"The mobile ads work very well," said Sergey Brin, the co-founder of Google. He also added, "There's nothing to dissuade me it would be any worse than traditional desktop search." Google has been working over the Android Platform too and now it is the mobile banner advertisement. Google seems to be keen towards mobile applications and services market.
The banner advertisement will be available in four pixel dimensions that are 305 X 64, 215 X 34, 192 X 53 and 167 X 30. Further, the pricing policy of Google that is pay per click, seems to be fruitful for their growth in this segment. None of the companies has made a mark in this sector, so far. Let's see, where Google's way of doing things differently, will take them in mobile advertising.
