more and more people are becoming aware that they can do business amongst themselves just fine without the help of a middleman, for example a real estate agent or a car dealer. Simply put, buyers and sellers get to keep more of their money because there's no commission that would have otherwise gone to the middleman.
Indeed, “People Keeping More of Their Money's worth” seems to be the credo of every free online classifieds out there. Free sign up, free ad posting, free browsing--which is enough to prod anyone with the right Internet connections and setting, and stuff to sell, or desire to buy, to try out these new e-marketplaces.
In comScore Media Metrix's latest digital media measurement, free classified ads sites have gained popularity by up to 47 percent in the past year. Leading the pack is Craigslist.org, which drew in some 13.8 million visitors in July of this year alone, up an impressive 99 percent during the past year.
The verdict is in: people are getting the hang of online shopping as they take charge in selling their goods themselves. Majority of these people, still according to the Metrix's results, are young professionals aged 25-34 and those living in high-income households. The point is, it's free, it's fun, and everyone is in it.
Perhaps, in this technologically-driven world, to not participate for at least once in any of the free online classifieds out there is a grave, grave sin.
